To be honest, a long time. Language training doesn’t happen overnight, and each student improves at a different pace. The number of classroom hours will vary based on your abilities and the amount of time you are willing to study the language outside of class.  In general, however, you can count on the following:

Private (1-to-1) and semi-private (2-to-1) lessons are made to be flexible, and cancelations can be made up to 24 hours in advance. We are unable to offer make up lessons for missed group classes, but we can certainly arrange additional private instruction at a special price if you feel as though you’ve fallen behind.

We love vacations! If you are aware of your vacation dates prior to booking the class, let us know and we can arrange alternatives for you. Contact us for more information.

Speakeasy has many students with busy social and professional schedules. If this sounds like you, your best bet is private or semi-private (2-to-1) lessons, which you can cancel up to 24 hours in advance.

Speakeasy doesn’t stick with a fixed schedule. Instead, we have classes starting almost every week! Language courses are organized on a rolling-basis, so don’t hesitate to contact us if you don’t see the right class for you on our schedule.

Speakeasy classes are small by design. Group classes range from 4-8 students, which allows for plenty of individual attention and an overall faster learning speed.

Speakeasy believes in both creating custom curriculum, and empowering our trainers to teach using their own best methods.  The majority of Speakeasy’s courses utilize a 4-part balanced approach to language learning: listening, speaking, reading and writing.  Looking for something more specific? We offer specialty courses that focus on a single competency as well, such as conversation courses and writing workshops.

Books are not included in the course price or registration fee, however all of the recommended books are priced below €35 and are available from the local bookshop, Hugendubel.

The majority of our teachers are native speakers of their teaching language. Those that are not native speakers have advanced degrees in the target language, and often have more than 10 years of teaching experience. We vet all of our teachers, and we know you are learning from the best!
