We are pleased that you are visiting our websites and are interested in our services. Protecting your personal data is important to us. In this Privacy Policy, we explain how we collect your personal data, what we do with it, the purposes and legal bases for processing it, and the rights and claims available to you.
Our Privacy Policy concerning the use of our websites and the data protection policy of SpeakEASY Sprachschule GmbH do not apply to your activities on the websites of social networks or other providers that you may access via links on our websites. Please refer to the websites of these providers for information about their privacy policies.
a. When you visit our websites, we store certain information about the browser and operating system you use, the date and time of your visit, the access status (for example, whether you were able to access a webpage or received an error message), your use of website functions, any search terms you may have entered, how frequently you access individual webpages, the names of files accessed, the volume of data transferred, the website from which you reached our websites, and the website you visit after leaving our websites—whether by clicking links on our websites or by entering a domain directly into the address bar of the same browser tab or window in which you opened our websites. For security reasons, particularly to prevent and detect attacks on our websites or attempted fraud, we also store your IP address and the name of your internet service provider for a period of seven days.
b. We only store other personal data if you provide it to us, for example when registering, using a contact form, participating in a survey or competition, or entering into or performing a contract. Even in these cases, we only store such data to the extent permitted by your consent or by applicable law.
c. You are under no legal or contractual obligation to provide your personal data. However, certain functions of our websites may depend on the provision of personal data. If you do not provide personal data in such cases, some functions may not be available or may only be available to a limited extent.
a. We use the personal data collected when you visit our websites to make them as convenient as possible for you to use and to protect our IT systems against attacks and other unlawful activities.
b. If you provide us with additional personal data, for example when registering, using a contact form, participating in a survey or competition, or entering into or performing a contract, we use this data for the stated purposes, for customer administration and—where necessary—for processing and settling any business transactions, in each case only to the extent required.
a. Our websites may also contain third-party offers. If you click on such an offer, we transfer data to the relevant provider to the extent necessary—for example, information indicating that you found the offer on our website and, where applicable, other information you have already provided for this purpose on our websites.
b. If we use social plug-ins from social networks such as Facebook, Twitter and Google+ on our websites, we integrate them as follows:
When you visit our websites, the social plug-ins are disabled, meaning that no data is transferred to the operators of these networks. If you wish to use one of the networks, click on the relevant social plug-in to establish a direct connection to the server of the respective network.
If you have a user account with the network and are logged in when you activate the social plug-in, the network may associate your visit to our websites with your user account. To prevent this, please log out of the network before activating the social plug-in. A social network cannot associate visits to other SpeakEASY websites with your account unless you also activate a social plug-in available there.
When you activate a social plug-in, the network transfers the content made available in this way directly to your browser, which then integrates it into our websites. In this situation, data transfers initiated and controlled by the respective social network may also take place. Your connection to a social network, the data transfers between the network and your system, and your interactions on that platform are governed exclusively by the privacy policy of the respective network.
The social plug-in remains active until you deactivate it or delete your cookies.
c. If you click on a link to an offer or activate a social plug-in, personal data may be transferred to providers in countries outside the European Economic Area that, from the perspective of the European Union (“EU”), do not guarantee an “adequate level of protection” for the processing of personal data that meets EU standards. Please bear this in mind before clicking a link or activating a social plug-in and thereby initiating the transfer of your data.
a. We aim to tailor the content of our websites as closely as possible to your interests and thereby improve our services. To identify usage preferences and particularly popular areas of our websites, we use the following analytics tool: Google Analytics.
b. When these analytics tools are used, data may be transferred to and processed on servers located in the United States. Please note the following: From the perspective of the European Union, the United States does not provide an “adequate level of protection” for the processing of personal data that meets EU standards. However, individual companies may establish such a level of protection through certification under the “EU-U.S. Privacy Shield.”
c. If you do not want us to use the analytics tools mentioned above to collect and evaluate information about your visit to our websites, you may object at any time with effect for the future (“opt out”).
We implement your objection by placing an opt-out cookie in your browser. This cookie is used solely to record your objection. Please note that, for technical reasons, an opt-out cookie only works in the browser in which it was placed. If you delete your cookies or use another browser or device, you will need to opt out again.
d. Below you will find information about the providers of the analytics tools we use and the relevant opt-out options:
i. Google Inc. (“Google”):
Google is certified under the EU-U.S. Privacy Shield.
You can prevent your data from being transferred to, collected and processed by Google. Google provides further information at the following link:

To tailor our online marketing—for example, banner advertising—on the websites of our retargeting partners (Google AdWords) more closely to your needs and interests, we use retargeting technologies. Your interest in our products and services is stored in cookies. When you visit other websites that cooperate with our retargeting partners, these cookies are read and used to provide you with information that is as relevant to your interests as possible. This is done anonymously, meaning that you cannot be identified through retargeting.
If you do not want SpeakEASY Sprachschule and its retargeting partners to collect, store and analyse information about your visit or tailor banner advertising to your interests, you may object at any time with effect for the future (“opt out”).
To implement this objection technically, an opt-out cookie is placed in your browser. This cookie is used solely to record your objection. Please note that, for technical reasons, an opt-out cookie can only be used in the browser from which it was placed. If you delete your cookies or use another browser or device, you will need to opt out again.
You can manage and disable the use of cookies by third-party providers on the following website:

We use technical and organisational security measures to protect the data we manage against manipulation, loss, destruction and access by unauthorised persons. We continuously improve our security measures in line with technological developments.
a. Where you have given us consent to process your personal data, this consent constitutes the legal basis for processing (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR).
b. Article 6(1)(b) GDPR is the legal basis for processing personal data for the purpose of initiating or performing a contract with you.
c. Where the processing of your personal data is necessary to comply with our legal obligations—for example, data retention obligations—we are authorised to process it under Article 6(1)(c) GDPR.
d. We also process personal data for the purposes of pursuing our legitimate interests and the legitimate interests of third parties in accordance with Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. Maintaining the functionality of our IT systems, marketing our own products and services and those of third parties, and legally required documentation of business contacts constitute such legitimate interests.
We delete your IP address and the name of your internet service provider, which we store solely for security reasons, after seven days. In all other respects, we delete your personal data as soon as the purpose for which we collected and processed the data no longer applies. Data is only stored beyond this point where required by the laws, regulations or other legal provisions of the European Union or an EU Member State to which we are subject.
a. As a person affected by data processing, you have the right of access (Article 15 GDPR), the right to rectification (Article 16 GDPR), the right to erasure (Article 17 GDPR), the right to restriction of processing (Article 18 GDPR), and the right to data portability (Article 20 GDPR).
b. If you have consented to our processing of your personal data, you have the right to withdraw your consent at any time. The withdrawal of consent does not affect the lawfulness of the processing of your personal data carried out before the withdrawal. It also does not affect any further processing of this data based on another legal basis, such as compliance with legal obligations (see the section “Legal Bases for Processing”).
c. Right to Object
You have the right, on grounds relating to your particular situation, to object at any time to the processing of personal data concerning you where such processing is based on Article 6(1)(e) GDPR (processing in the public interest) or Article 6(1)(f) GDPR (processing based on a balancing of interests). If you object, we will only continue to process your personal data if we can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds for doing so that override your interests, rights and freedoms, or if the processing is necessary for the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims.
d. Where possible, please send any claims or declarations to the following contact address: info@speakeasy-sprachschule.de
e. If you believe that the processing of your personal data violates legal requirements, you have the right to lodge a complaint with a competent data protection supervisory authority (Article 77 GDPR).
